POSITION SUMMARY : Provides specialized physical therapy treatment to inpatient clients, assessing and implementing appropriate interventions to enhance function and mobility.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and contributes to clinical education programs.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :
- Graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
- Current certification in Physical Therapy.
COMPETENCIES :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Windows-based programs and basic keyboarding.
- Access to reliable transportation for cross-site coverage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Evaluate patients based on departmental standards.
- Modify evaluations and establish individualized treatment goals.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, physical agents, and manual techniques.
- Implement effective techniques to improve motor activity and learning.
- Educate patients and families in home exercise programs.
- Document treatment and adhere to department policies.
- Communicate with referring physicians and supervise affiliated students.
- Maintain professional ethics and ensure proper body mechanics.
- Participate in continuing education and departmental in-services.
