Position Summary

This is a temporary position, estimated to run for at least six (6) months with the the possibility for extension, reporting to the Logistics Director (Commercial Coffee).

The Logistics Coordinator II will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries for all assigned sales contracts. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.

This is a significantly important role, and the candidate is expected to exercise discretion and judgment in managing the day-to-day business on customer accounts.

The individual has authority to make independent decisions on matters which affect the overall business. The incumbent must develop an understanding of customers' needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.

This position will work to maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers ensuring success for the ofi coffee team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of customer sales contract fulfillment including contract review, credit standing, product sampling, on-time deliveries, freight coordination, freight pricing, and warehouse coordination to ensure order fulfillment with specified timeframes.
  • Initiate container shipments from over twenty ofi controlled coffee origins.
  • Manage logistics related direct costs choosing the right third-party service providers and actively manage the supply chain.
  • Assist traders in creating budgets for shipments and ensure it is properly adhered to.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and plan future shipments and deliveries to anticipate customer’s needs.
  • Clear and deliver inbound cargo; Prepare customs entries and inbound delivery orders.
  • Ensure payments to ocean carriers are receives and cargo is cleared of customs holds.
  • Arrange releases from warehouses for delivery to customers.
  • Create outbound delivery orders and invoices for releases.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with origins, customers, and vendors.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the largest roasters in the USA and Canada.
  • Liaison with third party warehouses for product entry, storage, and delivery.
  • Manage customer claims for shortages or losses. Resolve concerns and address issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements :

  • High School Diploma Required. Bachelor’s Degree in business or logistics preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • 3 (three) years of experience in customer service, freight management, or logistics is required.
  • Direct experience importing or exporting shipping containers is required.
  • Familiarity with the coffee or food industry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of incoterms and documentary presentation is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet multiple competing demands is required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience using enterprise level ERP / CTRM systems highly preferred.
