The Finance team at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) provides employees, stakeholders and customers with timely and accurate financial information.
The Finance Department is comprised of six teams : Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Collections, Payroll and Tax that work closely together to ensure compliance and the financial well-being of the company. ABOUT THE ROLE
- Monthly remittance reports and payments : accurately complete the reports listing the amounts of contributions which are due in accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining or participation agreement.
- Union audit : assist and provide all necessary records and information to the Trustees during the verification of remittance reports and payments.
- Set up reciprocity rules between unions of the same trade type and process supplemental payment monthly.
- Set up and maintain a master list of union rates and fringe benefits.
- Union reconciliation : compare internal and external records, investigate the reason for the discrepancy if they do not match.
- Be able to research internal benefits discrepancy requests from Production / jobsites.
- Assist with building CEI labor rate sheet for job bidding purposes from estimating team.
- Review and process payment for FMLA from HR
Skill : As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways. Job Complexity : Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Supervision : Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
May be informal team leader. ABOUT YOU
- Proficient in MS Office applications, JDE experience a plus, intermediate MS Excel proficiency.
- Strong work ethic, self-starter with organizational, oral and written communication, and time management skills
- Possess quick and accurate data entry skills. Critical attention to detail with a professional attitude.
- In-depth knowledge of multi-state and local tax jurisdiction.
- Ability to translate payroll & compensation terminology into terms that are understandable to employees, independent contractors, colleagues, and management.
- Works with a sense of urgency without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and high degree of professionalism.
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education : High School Diploma required. Licensure / Certifications : Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation strongly preferred.
Experience : Five (5) years minimum certified payroll experience preferred. Construction payroll experience preferred. *Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
