Job Purpose :

The Senior Manager of Compliance will oversee and manage compliance related to the development, manufacturing, labeling, marketing, and distribution of FXI’s Sleep Comfort products.

This role ensures that our products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards, mitigates risks associated with non-compliance, and maintains a strong culture of compliance within the department and organization.

The position reports to the Senior Director of Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration : Work closely with the Product Development Team, Commercial Team, and third-party labs.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and standards governing bedding products in all jurisdictions where our products are sold.
  • Interpretation and Application : Interpret and apply these regulations to ensure products meet and exceed retail customer expectations.
  • Product Evaluation : Assess new and existing products for compliance with applicable regulations, including safety standards, labeling requirements, and other requirements specific to FXI's product line.
  • Testing and Inspections : Understand testing and inspection processes to support major retail customer requirements.
  • Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) : Manage CAPs for retail customer requirements, partner with plant management, cover suppliers, and third-party labs.
  • Documentation Management : Maintain comprehensive records of product compliance documentation, including test reports, certifications, and regulatory filings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Develop positive relationships and work closely with cross-functional corporate teams to manage compliance updates and initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement : Lead initiatives to improve compliance processes, systems, and tools.
  • Problem Resolution : Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical problems and customer issues.
  • Audits : Participate in Corporate Quality Audits and third-party audits by core customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years’ experience QA / Compliance for consumer goods
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and is able to interpret regulatory statues.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, including types and processes.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory and performance testing for consumer goods.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, such as CPSIA and major retailers' testing protocols.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in a team-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple situations daily and deal with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in using information technology (., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and project management software).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of product safety, performance, and compliance.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to other FXI plants, vendors, and customers.
