Position : Subsystems Engineer
Duration : 12 Month Contract + possible extensions
Location : Dearborn, MI hybrid schedule (in office 3 days a week)
Compensation : $35-$45 / hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Must Haves :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Computer Science
- 1 year minimum of experience in automotive product development
- Understanding of controls engineering and OBD regulations (EPA and CARB)
- Experience with calibration development tools
- Prior experience doing monitor work at an OEM
- Experience working with Hybrid or Electric Vehicles
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- MATLAB
Day to Day :
One of our automotive clients is looking for a Subsystems Engineer who will be responsible for delivering, validating, and maintaining on-board diagnostic solutions for powertrain technologies to meet diagnostic regulatory requirements.
The person in this position would be a central point of contact for a piece of technology within a vehicle. You’d be collaborating closely with software engineers and calibrators to make sure everything is working correctly within the software.
Additional responsibilities in this role include :
- Developing Demonstration Methods (DM’s) and calibration guides
- Collecting connected vehicle data to address code issues in the field
- Develop and deliver reliability and Robustness Documentation (DFMEA, P-Diagrams, Boundary Diagrams, Calibration Guidelines, Diagnostics Operations Summary, and Fault Demonstration Methods)
- Perform diagnostic routines, report findings and give recommendations to improve system reliability and durability
- Perform HIL / SIL, on-road, emissions, and dynamometer data collection to validate and calibrate diagnostic monitoring capability of new powertrain technologies
- Identify and aid in resolving OBD issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Author scripts using MATLAB, Python, or other scripting languages to analyze system / diagnostic behavior and support the calibration process
