No Physical Requirements Standing for extended period of times Shift 2 or 3 days / week, flexible around class schedule Job Summary The Department of Pediatrics Research in the College of Medicine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate biology student to join our team as a Part-Time Lab Assistant.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, complementing your academic studies.
The schedule is flexible to accommodate your class timetable.
Key responsibilities include : - Assist in preparing and executing laboratory experiments, including data collection, mouse colony breeding, genotyping (by DNA and RNA extraction and PCR and RTPCR), and analysis.
- Support ongoing research activities by assisting with experiments and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.- Collect, analyze, and record experimental data accurately and efficiently in electronic databases or laboratory notebooks.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and media for experiments.- Follow all safety and procedural protocols.- Assist in literature reviews and research documentation.
Provide general support to lab personnel as needed. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
