PositionOverview
A ConstructionSuperintendent is responsible for implementing the preconstructionconstruction commissioning and project closeout phases of solarfield installation projects with an emphasis on establishing andmaintaining project controls and completing projects in a timelyand costeffective manner.
The Construction Superintendent must havedemonstrated skills negotiating coordinating and directing work ofsubcontractors and in developing strong working relationships withgeneral employees general contractor personnel subcontractors andother related parties.
Other requirements include but arenot limited to the ability to organize and manage solar projectseffectively to manage cost control systems review and analyze plansfacilitate the bidding / negotiations / buyout process with a generalcontractor review all forms of requests for information (RFIs)examine and negotiate change orders and review and comment onsubmittals.
The successful candidate must be highly skilled inbudgeting and scheduling with strong verbal and writingskills.
KeyResponsibilities
- Providedetailed constructability reviews of solar project documents; makerecommendations accordingly.
- Advise consultlead and provide feedback on the development of constructionprocurement documents including plans and construction phaseconsulting services.
- Participate in and / or leadproject evaluation and consultant selection for applicableprocurements.
- Manage daytoday work on projectsin solar construction phases; coordinate and make recommendationsregarding status of work.
- Provide regulardetailed reporting / metrics on existing projects resourcesallocation project status completion statistics any variances toplan and forecasting of future needs.
- Reviewand monitor project work to ensure that progress is within expectedguidelines and is completed on time and withinbudget.
- Review and provide recommendations onpotential Change Orders on projects and process per contractualrequirements providing detailed analysis of impacts to the companybudget and schedule.
- Regularly review projectschedules analyze and monitor construction progress to determineimpacts to schedule and provide feedback to the Sr.
Project Managerand VP Operations.
Complete any otherjobrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education : Undergraduate University degree or higher in ConstructionManagement Project Management Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Other relevant education training or work experience may substitutefor bachelors degree.
- Minimum of 2 years ofconstruction management is required with at least 1 years in thesolar industry preferred.
- Ability toeffectively collaborate with internal and external resources andstakeholders.
- Selfdirected and able to functionwith ease as part of a team.
- Technically astuteand strategic in thinking.
- Strong interpersonalskills along with excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
- Ability to focus on details as requiredand have the ability to work well within a deadline drivenenvironment.
- Proven organizational skills andthe ability to manage multiplepriorities.
- Proficient in MS Word Outlook Exceland Microsoft Office tools and some knowledge of applicable projectmanagement software.
PhysicalRequirements
- Stand orwalk for long periods of time.

- Lift and carry materials weighing upto 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 poundswith assistance.
