The local restaurant group who brought you PYRO's Fire Fresh Pizza and Wolf River Brisket Company is proud to announce their latest concept, Limelight.

Launched in Fall 2022, Limelight is a high-end, cocktail-forward social restaurant that will feature a seasonal menu. It is located in the heart of Germantown, TN.

Summary / Objective

A brand-new restaurant in Germantown, TN is looking a Sous Chef who is responsible for supervising the preparation of food to be served while complying with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.

The Sous Chef will coordinate the work of kitchen staff while ensuring the quality and timeliness of the food that is served.

The Sous Chef is responsible for the appropriate use of supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste and following established food production procedures and recipes.

Essential Functions

  • Directs and participates in preparation of food served using established procedures.
  • Implements company recipe guidelines through recipe guides, plate presentation and audits.
  • Coordinates food preparation so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Has knowledge of culinary trends. Provides input in developing and refining recipes for seasonal dishes and daily specials.
  • Takes ownership for training kitchen staff on standards and kitchen safety.
  • Ensures food is stored properly and safely.
  • Orders food supplies and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Completes food quality and temperature checks before service.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will supervise and train kitchen staff.

Work Environment

This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef's knives.

The employee is frequently exposed to heat, cold, steam, fire and noise.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less.

The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with expected overtime. Days and hours of work fluctuate.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Prior leadership experience in a related food service position.
  • Understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification.

Preferred Education and Experience

Certification from a culinary school a plus
