Frazer and Jones are looking to add an Electrician to our Maintenance Department. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or Foreman, the electrician performs both preventative and reactive maintenance on various machines and equipment throughout the foundry.
Essential Job Functions :
- Able to read, write and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Use all types of testing instruments.
- Must have broad knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes and handbook formulas along with a working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Motor Control, and Power Distribution.
- Determine proper type, size of materials and equipment for the job, including power requirements.
- Perform electrical work requiring high degree of trade skill to install, test, inspect, adjust, repair and wire all plant equipment and circuits to required voltages and tolerances.
- Able to locate, diagnose and remedy troubles quickly to avoid shutdowns.
- Adjust all plant equipment to proper operating characteristics.
- Able to fabricate material to be used for electrical equipment.
- Operate shop trucks for handling materials.
- Adhere to all company safety policies including the proper use of PPE.
Education and Experience :
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or alike field is preferred.
- Trade certifications from organizations such as BOCES or MACNY highly desirable.
- Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an alike role.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, especially a foundry, is highly desirable.
Work Schedule and Hours :
- 3rd Shift - Sunday through Thursday, 10 : 00 PM - 6 : 30 AM.
- Scheduled full-time / 40 hours per week, with occasional assigned overtime on Friday or Saturday.
Pay and Benefits :
- $33.42 - $36.07 per hour. 3rd Shift receives a differential of $0.55 per hour.
- Overtime after 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours in a week.
