Job Summary :

The Project Manager leads technical teams in support of various projects within the Client Advanced Optics (AO) division.

This role is essential for defining and executing project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring successful program execution from initiation through delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead technical teams and collaborate with internal stakeholders to effectively execute programs.
  • Define and implement overall project plans to meet technical, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Drive project progress from initiation to delivery, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Continuously monitor changes in project requirements, scope, or assumptions.
  • Set key project messages and manage the flow of information regarding project direction, issues, and progress with stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results.
  • Utilize Corning's Tollgate process to direct program activities.
  • Oversee product testing and evaluation to ensure project requirements are met.

Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on project management experience.
  • Fully on-site presence required (not a remote or hybrid position).
  • First shift, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; possible overtime (not guaranteed).
  • Travel required : 0% to 10%.

  • Strong management fundamentals and ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Energetic and driven with a sense of urgency.

Skills :

  • Project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in leading technical teams for problem resolution and strategy execution.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in working cross-functionally (commercial, technical, technology).
  • Skilled in tracking and managing project spending, resources, and schedules.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experienced in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, risk assessment).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate direction and project purpose across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to define and prioritize key project milestones.

  • Creative problem solver with a desire to innovate within the AO platform.
  • Process discipline-oriented, following established protocols and evaluating opportunities for improvement.

  • Customer engagement experience is an advantage.
