Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting Supervisor is responsible for maintaining all general accounting functions, preparing operational financial analysis and financial statements with supporting schedules.
Payroll responsibility and ownership in tandem with corporate directional needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, Payroll, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Sales and Use tax reporting, Account Reconciliations, Accruals, expense reporting, census filings, and Inventory Management.
- Recommend, formulate, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and necessary controls in order to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporates Standard Policies & Procedures and GAAP requirements.
- Assist with and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information for reporting both to management as well as Corporate Finance.
- Support the month-end general ledger closing process, reconciliation of accounts and preparation of monthly and annual management accounts and reports.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Materials Management to support the corporate initiatives and development of adequate financial controls.
- Assist management in the development of the annual budget.
- Will supervise AR Coordinator and support credit management and invoicing.
PAYROLL Related :
- Administers all components of the payroll system and processes bi-weekly and weekly payrolls timely and accurately utilizing ADP Time and Labor / Workday.
- Ensure that the calculation of earnings is compliant with Federal, State, and local laws (garnishments etc.)
- Work with Corporate and Payroll captain for 401K compliance and end of year reporting, special or off-cycle payrolls.
- Research and troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve any payroll related issues.
- Payroll analysis, auditing, and reporting.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
Minimum of five years’ related experience. Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS : Advanced working knowledge of Excel to include V-look up and pivot tables, ability to comprehend additional software as needed to support the financial reporting and daily operations of the accounting dept.
OneStream, Sage Fixed Assets, Power BI, SmartSheets, Adobe Sign, ERP systems, etc.)
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Must possess good decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
