Job Description and Duties

Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

Under the supervision of the Secretary Manager II also known as Executive Chief Officer (CEO), the Office Technician (typing) will provide office and clerical support to the administration office at the 49th DAA.

  • Greet the public in person, on the telephone and in written communication with professionalism and tact.
  • Evaluate situations which may occur due to the nature of working with public and nd takes effective action while maintain customer service.
  • Perform difficult clerical work, including typing of correspondence, arithmetical computations; and competently operates various office machines and office record keeping programs.
  • Follow oral and written directions; read and write English at a level required for successful job performance.
  • Maintain administrative records, client database, event contracts, space calendars, vacation / time off schedule; reviews all employees time and forwards them to CEO for signature and various related documents, manually and / or electronically.
  • Work closely with CEO on the day-to-day fiscal and reporting operations ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Track expenditures against budget.
  • Track Safety Data Sheets to make sure we are in compliance.
  • Track the completion of the work release programs and community service paperwork.
  • Work with DGS on asset management and State vehicle inspections.
  • Type and prepare contracts, interim, annual, and fair time according to state guidelines and DAA procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring the volunteer program, as needed, to support current events, and new events.
  • Establish a list of candidates within the community who will donate their time for either the annual Fair or other events.

Working Conditions

The duties of the job are performed mostly indoors, with occasional outdoor periods in greeting the public. The employee works in the administrative office at the lake County Fairgrounds.

The office is equipped with standard office equipment, which includes a computer, printer, and standard office furniture.

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section).

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
