Senior RPG Programmer
Immediate long-term, remote contract for a Senior RPG Programmer . This is a great opportunity to work in a modern iSeries environment with the latest technologies.
Senior RPG Programmer Responsibilities :
- Analysis, code development, documentation and maintenance of new applications and substantial enhancements to existing applications.
- New development and maintenance of ILE RPG based applications using free-format RPG and embedded SQL.
- Create tables in SQL DDL
- Work with IBM Rational Developer for i- RDi
- Participate in scrum meetings, daily stand ups and complete Jira cards
Senior RPG Programmer Required skills :
- RPGLE, RPG Free, SQL, SQL RPG and CL languages
- Strong embedded SQL skills and interactive SQL skills are required
- Must have experience in DDL
- RPG IV and ILE (In terms of binding modules, service programs and API programming)
- Expert skills and experience in data migration, integration, and transformation methods
- Must have strong SQL skills with tables, outer joins, CTE’s, etc.
- Sub Procedures and Stored Procedures
- iSeries Navigator and RSE
- Expert skill and knowledge of pointers and cursors
- Must have experience with Power8 and DB2 systems
- Must be comfortable working independently to maintain and implement enterprise- class applications that adhere to all company standards
- Expert knowledge of change management process
Senior RPG Programmer Desired Skills :
- Oracle ERP Experience
- SQL Server
- IBM Content Manager
- Working knowledge of Web Services, SFTP and IFS
- Agile methodology / Scrum experience
- Ability to engage in non-iSeries technologies
