Wireless System Automation Engineer

In this role you will be responsible for automation of the bringup and integration infrastructure for the PHY / Radio on internal silicon solution from chip back until shipping in your favorite Apple products.

Description

In this individual technical contributor role you will be responsible for automation development of state-of-the-art wireless SoC products.

You will develop the software infrastructure at the center of a silicon design group including the framework for bringup, validation, characterization, regression, and reporting.

This will include designing and implementing a Python-based bringup framework, the regression / validation tools, and the reporting / analysis engine.

As an owner of the silicon performance infrastructure you will be key in making sure Apple products exceed expectations.

Key Qualifications

• Experience in developing test and debug infrastructure for characterization and debug of real wireless silicon in a lab.
• Experience developing test automation including equipment drivers, debug tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting tools.
• Experience automating measurements on wireless test equipment such as signal analyzer, signal generator, and spectrum analyzer.
• Basic Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols : 802.11a / b / g / n / ac / ax / be, LTE / WCDMA / GSM, or 802.

11ad / ay and key Tx / Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity.

Education & Experience

Minimum qualification is BS+ 10 years of relevant experience. MS or PhD preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.

The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
