Premier Medical Resources is looking for a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our growing team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Maintains inventory of hospital owned medical equipment and is responsible for coordinating and obtaining repairs when needed
- Follows a preventative maintenance schedule which includes periodic inspecting of building grounds utility systems, and department equipment, to ensure good order at all times
- Works pro-actively to perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc. as directed and in accordance with established procedures
- Documents findings from inspections on Maintenance Log Cards
- Schedules and coordinates the repair or replacement of equipment, building, grounds or utility systems
- Performs or coordinates unscheduled maintenance tasks when deemed necessary according to regulations
- Ensures facility is well maintained to promote a safe working environment
- Reports all unsafe / hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to management immediately
- Ensures that contractor bids and / or quotes are completed and received in a timely manner, as needed
- Develops and provides training to hospital staff regarding its safety program
- Is accessible 24 / 7 to hospital Administrators unless other arrangements have been made and communicated to the appropriate staff and management
- Makes suggestions for the revision of systems and routines with results in improved operations of the department
- Assists management to create a financially responsible departmental budget
- Provides input into the development and implementation of maintenance related hospital projects
- Utilizes knowledge of fiscal management when making daily operational decisions
- Performs periodic safety walks throughout the facility to ensure the facility is free from safety hazards
- Demonstrates problem-solving and problem prevention skills in the areas of maintenance and safety
- Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment
- Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement while performing day to day activities of the position
- Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues
- Adheres to confidentiality policy
- Maintains positive working relationships and fosters cooperative work environment. Adheres to the hospital's policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook
- Displays honesty and mutual respect when communicating with peers and other departments
- Follows through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command
- Participates in performance improvement activities which include collecting, analyzing date to identify quantifiable measures to maintain quality and the promotion of desired outcomes
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the hospital
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
- Demonstrates knowledge of Building Codes
- Knowledge of CMS, JCAHO and Life Safety Code
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in maintenance in a healthcare setting.
- Certified in the following or must complete certification within 90-days of hire :
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- OSHA 10
- Boiler
- DOT (Department of Transportation)
- EP (Emergency Preparedness) FEMA IS-100 and IS-200
