Press Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

JobOverview :

As a PressProduction Group Leader you will be the first line leader tosupport team members within the metal stamping department.

You willbe responsible for coordinating daytoday activities in order tomaintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your teamis successful.

Thisposition will be on 2nd Shift Monday through Thursday 3 : 00pm to1 : 00am. There may be occasional overtime required on Fridays from1 : 00pm to 9 : 00pm

• Ensure that employeesare properly trained by their Team Leader or other designatedtrainer in the areas of safety quality equipment operation and 5Swithin the press department.
• Workwith technical staff to ensure propersupport.
• Establish annual goals andobjectives that support the attainment of operatingmetrics.
• Work to continuously improveprocesses and reduce inventories and work inprogress.
• Serve as the first point ofcontact for employees regarding employee relationsissues.
• Collaborate with UnionStewards in contract and disciplineissues.
• Organize monitor andprioritize tasks to meet daily productiongoals.

Knowledge / Experience / Education :

• A minimumof 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium / high volumefastpaced manufacturing environment ispreferred.
• Bachelors Degree orAssociates Degree in Business Manufacturing Engineering orOperations is preferred.
• Previousprofessional internship or coop experience will be taken intoconsideration as relevantexperience.
• Experience within ahighspeed metal stamping operation including progressive diestransfer presses and manual press operations ispreferred.
• Proven history of abilityto lead with a servant leadershipmindset.

Skills andAbilities :

• Must be selfdriven and ambitious with provenleadership capabilities including providing coaching mentoring andsupervision within a teamenvironment.
• Proficient withMicrosoft Office (Microsoft Outlook Word andExcel).
• Strong problemsolving skillsincluding encouraging others on your team to think proactively andcreate solutions.
• Solid understandingof process control production scheduling Kaizen Kanban and Leanmanufacturing is preferred.

PhysicalRequirements :

Stooping bending standing for long periods oftime manual dexterity and able to lift up to 50 lbs withoutassistance.

Musthave :

• Bachelors degree or associate degree inbusiness Manufacturing Engineering or Operations ispreferred.
• 13 years of supervisoryexperience in a medium / high volume fastpaced manufacturingenvironment is preferred.
• Previousprofessional internship or coopexperience.
• Experience within ahighspeed metal stamping operation including progressive diestransfer presses and manual pressoperations.
• Experience and ability tolead with a servant leadershipmindset.

Nice tohave :

Solidunderstanding of process control production scheduling KaizenKanban and Lean manufacturing ispreferred.
