This position requires a high degree of technical and practical knowledge related to the industrial polymer and chemical fields having extensive experience in the rubber, tire and / or plastic industries.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Blend of direct outside selling and inside sales support of industrial chemicals to rubber and / or plastic industry.
- Developing product requirements and roadmaps for market entry.
- Coordinating with engineering, marketing and other teams.
- Incorporating feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy and finding ways to expand product market reach.
- Strong technical aptitude and communication skills.
- Additional consideration will be given to candidates with rubber compounding experience.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.
- Develop positive relationships with clients.
- Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs.
- Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.
- Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.
- Supervise independent account representatives to ensure sales increase.
- Report on the status of accounts and transactions.
- Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor sales (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
- Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision.
- Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products.
- Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in a Sales, Product Management, or Technical position with strong customer contact involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role.
- Extensive experience with business travel and face-to-face selling.
- Organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Creative thinking skills.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
- BS / BA in Engineering, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience.
