Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to be based at Thornton Science Park, Cheshire .
Main Purpose
To deliver the procurement requirements across the company’s operations in the UK and EU, providing a value-adding, effective and efficient service to internal customers across Rocksavage, Thornton, Heath and any other sites / offices.
To support the delivery of business strategy and objectives through cost effective procurement of raw materials, goods, spares and services whilst complying with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- To line manage a Procurement Officer to ensure their day-to-day activities are fully developed, allowing them to maximize their contribution to the business.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to understand and deliver their requirements. Act as a partner to deliver business objectives whilst minimizing costs and maximizing value.
Internal customer satisfaction is a key measure of success.
To work closely with the EMEAI Procurement Manager to develop the UK & EU engineering and non-engineering goods and services procurement strategies.
Identify opportunities for improvement in area of responsibility, working with key stakeholders and procurement team colleagues.
Provide support to the EMEAI Procurement Manager to develop and implement the engineering purchasing processes, procedures, contractual standards and commercial relationship.
Ensure end user requirements are delivered and supplier relationships are established, maintained, monitored, developed and improved.
- Provide support to the EMEAI Procurement Manager to enable the monitoring and reporting for engineering and non-engineering goods and services purchasing expenditure.
- Manage the appraisal, selection and negotiation with appropriate suppliers for the procurement of engineering materials and services of medium complexity to meet the business’s commercial and technical needs and therefore ensuring that they are purchased upon optimal terms and conditions.
Ensure alignment and agreement with the EMEAI Procurement Manager.
Develop supplier relationships and ensure suppliers are managed and their performance monitored and improved.
Qualifications
Minimum :
CIPS qualified or demonstrable experience.
Knowledge / Experience Required
- In depth experience of delivering in a Senior Procurement Officer, or equivalent, role.
- Experience of mentoring and managing people.
- In depth understanding of commercial and purchasing systems and procedures.
- A working knowledge of Supplier and Contractor Management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to develop relationships across a range of stakeholders.
- Strong IT Skills, experience of purchasing systems, including SAP, and Microsoft office packages, with expertise using Excel.
