As the General Manager for our Fordham site, you will be reporting into a Sector Director for our Retail business in the South of the UK and be responsible for developing a highly effective site leadership team for a flagship site.
Working closely with our production, engineering, design, customer service, sales and finance teams, we want you to provide exemplary leadership to our employees at the Fordham site, demonstrating our core values and management standards, ensuring that we embed a culture of employee engagement, with world class health and safety standards.
You will be expected to plan, direct and run safe day-to-day operations for the site, ensuring that we exceed our customers expectations.
We want you to deliver superior, On Time in Full (OTIF) performance, with minimal waste and a low defect parts per million rate.
You should implement strategic initiatives, direction and focus through the management team and work in partnership with our HR team to address any employee concerns or issues.
You should be able to create an environment of continuous improvement across the site, looking at Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement initiatives, developing systems and processes to track and optimise productivity.
All of this must be delivered safely whilst maintaining disciplined cost control and ensuring that the site is profitable.
About you
- Minimum requirements : *
- Substantial experience in a similar position for a large corporate
- Experience of ownership of HSE in a production environment
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of lean process
- Knowledge of financial management, commercial awareness and a strategic planner
- A thoughtful leader, confident decision maker, able to develop and initiate a continuous improvement culture, and able to coach, motivate and engage a team
- Preferred requirements : *
- Experience working for a multi-site, multi-national manufacturing organisation
