The Information Technology Network Unit supports the work of the Orange County Department of Education and assists Orange County schools with their technology needs.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as Network Engineer for IT's Network Unit.
The selected candidate will :
- Work with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management.
- The Network Engineer will provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN / WAN hardware, hubs, bridges, and routers.
- This position will also administer the operation of all LAN / WAN related network services according to company policies and procedures;
- coordinate and implement network software and hardware upgrades; troubleshoot and resolve LAN / WAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems to administer LAN / WAN security, antivirus, and spam control measures;
and to install, configure, and support voice, data, and video equipment.
This position visits a variety of work locations, including juvenile hall / probation sites.
Selected candidate must pass an additional background clearance by the Probation Department.
There is not remote work available for this position.
