POSITION SUMMARY :
Perform required operations to set up, adjust, and operate blade making equipment. Using process control methods to achieve optimum machine settings and performing all machine adjustments, requiring attention to procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Maintain a controlled process utilizing pre-control methods. Detect mechanical and quality failures and take corrective action.
Visually inspect and scan pattern of each tray and / or pin of blades produced to assure all quality specifications are met.
- Make manual adjustments to various grinding and honing wheels.
- Use all measurement instrumentation to inspect and release all blades.
- Maintain a daily production record, achieving productivity goals.
- Remove and replace worn grinding and honing components, including wheels.
- Detect and report unusual conditions to proper supervision. Work with maintenance mechanics on machine maintenance and repairs as required.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 90 lbs. with assistance, 35 lbs. independently, reaching and stepping up onto a platform and working in an oily environment.
- Simultaneously run multiple machines during breaks.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Any additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or GED
Salary Range : LG6 - $18.54 - $30.68 per hour, based on experience.
