Job Summary

The Research Administrator II is responsible for coordinating the administrative and financial aspects of all sponsored projects and research-related activities and personnel within area of responsibility.

Pay Range

Minimum $60,105 Midpoint $79,602 Maximum $99,142

Experience

Required : Minimum two (2) years of progressive experience in sponsored research grants and contracts administration, preferably in industry or at a university or nonprofit research institution.

Preferred : Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with federal grant and contract regulations.

Education

Required : Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college or equivalent experience.

Specialized Skills

Required : Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of sponsored projects activities.

Excellent organizational skills to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities. Working knowledge of federal electronic / web-based grant submission process.

Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Effective staff training, leading and mentoring skills.

Experience and proven ability managing research administration and grant / contract activities. Proven ability to formulate and implement policies;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with CHOC associates, outside funding agencies (Federal, state, local, industry and foundation) and vendors.

Knowledge of office technology including facsimile machines, copiers, scanners and personal computers and must have ability to utilize, email word-processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Work Environments - Functional Demand :

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push / pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
