General Description : The Director of Students has a growing relationship with God, and is passionate about leading students, their families, and their peers in experiencing the presence of God in dynamic and creative ways.
This person is skilled at team building and development, spiritually and pragmatically developing disciples in the character and mission of Christ.
They understand how vibrant, Christ-centered ministry connects with believers and the spiritually curious, creating experiences accessible to all backgrounds.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- At least Three years of experience in vocational ministry / or experience in a related field
- Passionate about Student Ministry and its role in fulfilling the Worship, Ministry, and Mission of the church
- Gift of leadership, with ability to recruit, train, and develop volunteers and leaders
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to strategize, plan, and implement a variety of ministries and events
- Strong communication skills; inclusive of students, parents, and ministry leaders
- Theologically equipped; can develop and lead a ministry that is Christ-centered and culturally engaging
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Ministry reflects the mission of Schweitzer by seeing discipleship development in youth, families, and ministry leaders, as teens worship, grow and minister within the body, and go on mission with God
Youth Ministry Programming
- Plan and implement large group programming for Junior and High School (7th - th grade). (Programming includes weekly ministry, retreats, mission trips, summer camps, etc.)
- Plan and implement small group experiences; connecting students with spiritual guides / friends
- Equip parents of students (7th- grade) in their role as leaders and equippers of their youth
Strategic Leadership
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteer ministry leaders; always building the team to be Christ-centered and student focused
- Connect with volunteer leaders, parents, students, and their peers, at church, in social settings, and in virtual spaces (order of importance)
- Collaborate with church staff for time and space, marketing and communications,
- Collaborates and Equips Student Ministry staff
Administration
- Collaborates with Family Ministry team to create and manage annual budget for student ministry
- Purchases, maintains and evaluates supplies, technology and equipment in student ministry
- Reports to office in timely manner the results of ministry
Other Responsibilities :
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, family ministry team meetings, and other meetings when assigned
- All other duties as assigned

- Student Ministry is playing a vital role in the overall strategy of welcoming new families; helping teens and families get connected to Schweitzer
- The volunteer leadership team is healthy, growing, abiding by Safe Gatherings protocols and reflects a minimum ratio of 1 : 4, leaders to students;
- Students are routinely observed inviting friends to events / programming / opportunities, and sharing faith in their world (i.
e. social media shares)

- Summer programming includes weekly connections, Camps, and a Mission experience
- Collaborates with Family Ministry team - creating a team approach for resourcing parents
- A healthy relationship to the budget, reporting, calendaring and the details of ministry
