Job Summary
The Quality Assurance / Resource Specialist is responsible for conducting monthly scheduled and unscheduled audit visits, providing technical assistance during monitoring visit, identifying issue and barriers for consistency in the achievement of measurable goals, and coordinating the resources necessary to implement the services needed by the client.

Knowledge of state and federal laws, knowledge of DDA Policies and Procedures and WACs, knowledge of IISPs, PBSPs, PCSPs, knowledge of behavior modification programming, knowledge of DDA audit practices, knowledge of RCS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with directors, administrators, managers and service providers in collecting audit data
- Maintain current knowledge of all policies and procedures that govern Sails Washington programs
- Maintain current knowledge of regional centers program designs to ensure compliance is being met
- Conduct monthly quality assurance audits in Sails WA programs
- Provide thorough monthly written audit reports and reviews of Sails Washington programs.
- Report audit findings quarterly to House Managers, Program Managers, and Directors.
- Follow-up on corrective actions to ensure compliance is met / maintained after report of findings
- Participate in incident investigations of unusual incidents as requested by program manager or director
- Review Special Incident Reports (SIR) monthly to assist in the Quarterly Risk Assessment process for program director
- Reviews and assists in referral process for the teams
- Liaison between client, family, and other agencies regarding referral process, services and supports, as needed
- Ensures all assessments and report findings are followed up on by team or management staff
- QA medical records as required by regulatory guidelines. Follow up with Health Service Program Managers when seeing these issues within the programs.
- Must be willing to participate in support staff (direct care) assignments as directed
- Will work with DDA / DOH to ensure curriculum / trainers are approved.
- Will work with new accreditations and certifications to ensure the curriculum is approved.
- Will keep up to date with Policies and Procedures and create trainings for staff with updated changes as needed
- Review medical documentation to ensure follow ups are scheduled and treatment plans are completed prior to filing in client retention.
- Ensure staff credentials are emailed or faxed to nurse delegators for all departments.
- Ensure nurse delegation information is up to date and accurate in client homes for all departments.
- Monitors client dates for expiring care plans, consents and medication treatment for all departments.
- Prompt the Health Service Program Manager when refills are expiring.
- Attends appointments as needed for new client PCP set up.
- Attend medical appointments as needed for clients with high medical needs.
- Will maintain instructor status and direct structured learning courses (Home Care Aide Training, Residential Core Training, CPR, First Aid, HIV / BBP, CPI and Continuing Education, CPI).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
LPN, CPR, First Aid and CPI certificates required
One year of auditing experience, quality assurance standards / practices, and researching community resources.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Quality Assurance Coordinator typically works out in the field traveling to and from remote locations. Frequent standing, twisting, reaching, walking, driving, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions are required.
Occasional lifting of 25 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, traveling, kneeling and crouching are required

This position will require a valid California ID or Driver’s License. The candidate must possess proof of valid insurance and registration.
