Field Engineer III

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Field Engineer III to be based out of San Diego, CA . This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding / constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Southwest Division

Shimmick’s Southwest Division, headquartered in Irvine, California, focuses on large public owners in Southern California, across water resources, water treatment, transportation and transit markets.

Over the past decade, the division has grown tremendously, securing major projects, including the $350 million in San Diego at the $200 million in Orange County.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following :

• Under general supervision, performs routine duties.
• Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
• Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
• Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
• Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
• May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience in heavy civil construction projects
• Experience managing a team of engineers
• Producing and implementing work plans

Additional Information :

The salary range for this position is between $115,000 - $130,000 per year depending on experience and / or education.
