Position Overview :

The Director of Accounting will be a hands-on leader, deeply involved in the day-to-day accounting responsibilities while keeping a strategic view of the business needs.

This role requires a dynamic individual who is as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to handle detailed accounting tasks while collaborating on high-level financial strategy.

This person will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure the financial operations support the strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Hands-On Accounting : Oversee and participate in all accounting operations including Billing, A / R, A / P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Financial Reporting : Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Budgeting and Forecasting : Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, monitor financial performance, and report variances.
• Internal Controls : Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with financial policies.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Month-End / Year-End Close : Support and manage the month-end and year-end-close processes.
• Collaboration : Work closely with the Director of Finance on strategic financial planning, capital management, and risk assessment.
• Process Improvement : Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
• Regulatory Reporting : Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues for compliance.

Qualifications :

• Proven working experience as a Controller or Director of Accounting.
• 8+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bonus : Experience or exposure to capital raises and managing investor relations.
• Bonus : Experience in a subscription-based business model
