Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.
Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults;
and partial hospitalization, intensive out-patient and ECT services for adults. Our treatment philosophy is based on a team approach that treats patients with dignity and respect, while delivering high-quality care.

Position Summary
The Unit Therapist is responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients. They provide counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups.
Unit Therapists are responsible for interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries.
Unit Therapists act as the patients’ and families’ primary contact during the patient’s stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team.
Unit therapists are also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family

- Collateral contacts with family / support network
- Patient and family education on diagnosis and resources
- Support and Adovcacy of patient and family
- Coordination / liaison with community based resources on behalf of patients
- Discharge planning
- Active member of the multi-disciplinary inpatient treatment team

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling or related field.
- One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with patient with psychiatric diagnoses.
For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to these; abuse reactive, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play therapy, art therapy and relaxation therapy.
Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.
Current license from the State of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC OR LMHCI preferred.
