MUST BE ABLE TO PASS MIG / PULSE WELD TEST
Must be able to read blueprints and fit-up fabricated assemblies.
Thorough knowledge of welding symbols / notations.
Must be able to pass AWS D1.1 & D1.3 certification (done after hire at MSDF, if not already obtained )
Responsibilities : Fabricate assemblies by using welds and mechanical fasteners according to accepted methods. Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
Positions, aligns, fits and welds parts together. Set up and operate hand tools. Verifies fabricated elements meet design specifications.
Qualifications : Previous experience in welding (+1 year), manufacturing setting or related fields. Ability to work as a team.
Familiar with welding tools ( drill press, band saw and hand tools) practices safe and correct procedures of metalworking equipment in shop environment.
Ability to read engineering blueprints and schematics.
Set up welding machines based on the job at hand. MIG / PULSE weld steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and / or drawings.
Follow quality standards by providing great attention to detail. Ensure work is done safely. Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
Ability to work as team to maximize efficiency and productivity. Lift raw materials (up to 60 pounds). Must have the ability to weld and fabricate components complete by interpreting and analyzing drawing files;
maintaining quality and safety standards; keep detailed records; maintain shop equipment and supplies.
Duties : Weld Certifiable to AWS D1.1, D1.3, ASME Section 9 at a minimum; AWS certification history is a PLUS. Candidate must demonstrate that they have been through the weld certification process.
