Public Relations Communications Manager

We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Public Relations Communications Manager to join our growing team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Do you have a sweet tooth for Public Relations? As the PR Communications Manager, you will lead external PVM consumer brands public relations and communications to support company and brand reputation to build and maintain positive awareness for our brands and Perfetti Van Melle among consumers, community, customers, and industry key stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities include :

• Work with Marketing Teams and their agencies, acting as a key public relations contact by leading proactive and reactive national and local PR efforts for the PVM consumer brands new item launches, brand activations, and promotions.
• Act as counsel to brand teams and agencies to appropriately support brand and corporate image.
• Build and / or ensure meaningful PR measurements into plans and report progress / results based on program measurement objectives.
• Support Sales and Marketing teams by creating and executing PR / media relations plans and materials for customer trade shows / industry shows (NCA Sweets & Snacks Expo, NACS Shows).
• Support Sales team with customer / broker communications and talking points related to external news or issues management, ESG response inquiries.
• Support Communications Director and HR with PVM US corporate website and social sites, and other external PR aspects of Employer Branding / Corporate Image for Image and talent acquisition
• Consult with PVM Global Comms related to external brand PR messaging development and brand initiative PR reviews.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Bachelor’s Degree in PR, Communications, Journalism required; APR or similar accreditation preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in corporate communications or agency PR and communications.
• Self-starter, articulate, strong writer / editor, media / influencers relations experience (consumer brand and B2B preferred) demonstrated strategic comms / PR planning and message development experience.
• 2 years of issues / crisis management experience desired.
• Media spokesperson training skills, basic video editing tools like Canva or DreamBroker, Sharepoint, O365 Suite. Media monitoring / Relations software like Meltwater or Cision.

Meeting presentation skills required.

• Ability to work across teams and brands with subject matter experts, distil information into clear and compelling PR and communication materials and be an integrated PR / media / influencer relations subject matter expert with brand teams and other key stakeholders.
• Travel anticipated up to 20-25% for brand activations, trade shows and other external relationship efforts in the industry or our local community, mostly domestic (can include attending occasional evening or early morning events or meetings).
