We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Trust and Estates Paralegal to join our esteemed legal team.
This role will play a pivotal part in our Trust and Estates department, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to be involved in challenging, high-profile cases.
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to attorneys, managing and organizing files, drafting legal documents, and conducting legal research.
This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for the legal industry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to apply their skills in a rewarding and engaging setting.
Responsibilities :
1. Provide extensive support to attorneys in the Trust and Estates department, including preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings.
2. Conduct thorough legal research to assist in case preparation and to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations.
3. Draft and prepare legal documents such as wills, trusts, estate plans, probate forms, and other related documentation.
4. File complaints and other legal documents with the appropriate courts in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Assist in the management and organization of case files, ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible and up to date.
6. Participate in the development of case strategies and contribute to litigation support efforts.
7. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and regulations at all times.
8. Collaborate with the legal team to ensure the smooth running of the Trust and Estates department.
Qualifications :
1. Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably within the Trust and Estates sector.
3. Proficiency in legal research, with a thorough understanding of legal terminology and principles.
4. Demonstrated experience in drafting and filing legal documents, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality legal writing.
6. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide useful legal insights.
9. Certified Paralegal (CP) or Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) credentials are preferred but not required.
