Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Digital Release Manager for a Direct Placement assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical Services clients in Hawthorne, NY .
The Release Manager has a critical role in the Release Management lifecycle. This includes procedures, process improvements, scheduling, coordinating, and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications.
The Release Manager Job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and supports developers and testers as they set up their build dev / test environments.
This position also works with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
The release manager will control changes to production by executing deployments through change requests that were reviewed and approved by Tech Leads, QA Leads, Product, and the Head of Engineering.
This Role is crucial in supporting security and compliance audits, including PCI and SOX, by applying best practices in separating duties and engineering environments and having adequate and monitored end-user access to these environments.
Responsibilities :
- Managing risks that may impact the release scope.
- Communicate all critical project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements.
- Administer Change Management and act as a Change Controller.
- Develops scripts and automation tools to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
- Produce Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans.
- Release Management : Coordinate release activities and ensure smooth deployments, rollback procedures, and versioning control for planned Sprint Release or Hotfixes.
- Maintain Jenkins jobs, builds, and deploy security patches and updates on the build server as recommended due to vulnerability scans.
- Work closely with development teams to establish release schedules, manage dependencies, and help resolve merge conflicts.
- Security and Compliance : Implement and enforce security measures, best practices, and SOX and PCI compliance requirements across infrastructure and application deployments.
- Collaborate with security teams to assess vulnerability and implement necessary remediation measures.
Required Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- years of previous release and project management experience.
- years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development.
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration and development (CI / CD) tools
- Experience building Docker images and deploying them into the Kubernetes cluster.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Node, Jenkins, and ServiceNow tools.
Preferred Skills :
- Familiar with cloud Development, including AWS Lambda Functions, AWS SQS, EKS, and S. Experience in Google Cloud Run is a plus.
- E-commerce experience is a plus.
