The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Officer I will support the execution and evolvement of WSFS’s ERM program. This will be completed by collaborating with WSFS’s ERM team as well as with other stakeholders across the organization (line managers, risk managers, Executive Management, etc.

The primary functions of the ERM program are to ensure an integrated, consistent approach to risk management is in place, provide credible challenge to management’s identification and assessment of risks, and to ultimately report risks across the enterprise to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.

This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships across the Company.

Job Responsibilities :

Work with the Enterprise Risk Manager to continue the buildout of WSFS’s ERM program based on industry best practice and regulatory expectations / requirements.

This may include working and training Risk Liaisons on our evolving framework.

  • Collaborate with business lines to independently track and monitor the Company’s risk profile across all categories of risk and in relation to Board approved risk appetite levels.
  • Contribute to the compilation of ERM materials (ERM Dashboard Ratings, Key Risk Indicators, etc.) reported to Executive Management and the Board of Directors (Management Risk Committee and the Board of Directors).
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the Bank, interacting with Executives and Senior Management.
  • Provide thought leadership regarding all ERM program components; make suggestions to improve, streamline, and automate current practices and processes.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of a new GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) technology tool.
  • Participate on special projects as directed by the Enterprise Risk Manager. Topical areas may include Model Risk Management and Stress Testing.
  • Support Operational Risk Management with one-off assignments, when needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or other business related field. MBA or graduate degree in business a plus.
  • Must have a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in risk management (financial risk management or compliance risk management are acceptable)
  • Analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable in regulatory and financial industry risks, guidance and best practices affecting the financial services industry in general.
  • Preferred experience creating / conducting risk assessments and / or using GRC technology.
