As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned journalists and gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of news reporting.

You will be working primarily with the digital team.

Internship Overview :

Are you a news enthusiast with a passion for storytelling and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with current events?

If so, we want you on our team! As a News Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to the creation of compelling news stories, assist in research, conduct interviews, and witness the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom.

Responsibilities :

  • No day is the same. If you excel in an active, fast-moving environment and have the drive to learn the many different areas of News production, this position is perfect for you
  • You will work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, in-house and out in the field
  • You will receive training on various topics including how to produce a news segment from the control room, how to research and pitch a great story, how to operate camera equipment, what shots matter, and more

Qualifications :

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be considered a recent graduate
  • Must be at least in your sophomore year of an accredited college / university
  • Must be a . citizen or eligible to work in the .
  • Willing to work approximately 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, beginning in September 2024 There may be a variety in hours due to our news programming schedules
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from our Portland, OR location
