Operations Manager

Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Operations Manager that can assist in preparing annual budgets and business strategies. Monitor performance against the business plan and make required adjustments to ensure the profitability of the shop.

Work with the Management Team to plan day to day activities in the shop. Liaise with customers and potential customers to ensure their needs are met.

Make sure the shop is a safe workplace and is in compliance with OSHA rules. Ensure compliance with ISO-9001 rules.

What you’ll do

• Hold daily and weekly planning meetings to scheduled work in the plant and make necessary changes to ensure profitability.
• Review new purchase orders and accept or request changes on material price and current industry rates.
• Open jobs in GSS and prepare work folders for shop supervisors.
• Review completed jobs for profitability and discuss them with the Management Team.
• Meet with customers to ensure we are meeting and exceeding their needs.
• Update forecasts and report to accounting as needed.
• Review all quotes for accuracy and compliance.
• Purchase all material for jobs, plus tooling and supplies for the shop.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.

Highest Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportion to practical situations.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
