Bright Light Academy is seeking a mature, experienced Assistant Director to join our team.
The ideal candidates will have at least an Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Children & Families with at least two years of experience working in early learning & some administrative or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Assisting in administering the program’s objectives & activities.
- Coordinating & planning daily activities with / group supervisors, assistant group supervisors & aides in all age groups.
- Maintaining current & up-to-date records on all students including (but not limited to) :
Physicals, clearances, continuing ed., assessments, emergency forms, medication forms, observations, behavior reports & boo-boo reports.
- Assisting director with / implementing & enforcing DHS regulations & Keystone Stars policies & procedures as needed.
- Planning & supervision of several emergency evacuations and / or lockdown drills per year.
- Attendance & participation in monthly staff meetings & in-services.
- Answer phones, schedule meetings, conferences, etc.
- Help create a safe & stimulating environment for all students & staff.
- Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
- Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
- Other general management & maintenance of the property as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress as needed.
- Complete child assessments & participate in parent / teacher conferences.
- Provide break coverage of substitutes as needed.
Qualifications :
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Children & Families.
- Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably toddlers.
- Must qualify as a Group Supervisor with DHS.
- Pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
- Be 18 years or older & able to work in the United States.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
- Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
Position Overview :
- This is a full-time, year-round position.
- The pay range starts at $18.00 up to $20.00 (relative to experience & education) per hour with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90-day probation period.
- Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick time, dental or vision insurance, reduced child care & more.
- Full-time staff work a four-day work week!
