We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to join our team in the Healthcare / NHS industry, located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for pre-registration, financial clearance functions, validation of patient demographic and insurance information, and scheduling patients.
You will also handle customer inquiries and maintain accurate records in the practice management system.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the pre-registration and financial clearance functions prior to patient's arrival for service.
- Validate patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
- Obtain pre- certification / authorization as required to avoid service disruptions.
- Schedule patients effectively, ensuring their convenience and service efficiency.
- Enter all necessary patient information into the practice management system for record-keeping.
- Handle customer inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records for future reference.
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
- Employ customer service skills to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer service, ideally within the healthcare industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Proficient in using healthcare software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to handle patient queries and complaints effectively and professionally
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the guidelines set by HIPAA
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the role
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in healthcare administration will be considered a plus.
