Our Field Service Technicians conduct a variety of duties encompassing service maintenance, installation, commencement of new machinery, and repair work on heavy equipment, typically onsite at clients’ premises.
Proficiency in testing standards, troubleshooting techniques, and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and diagrams, as well as familiarity with Astec equipment or its equivalent, is essential.
Adapts machine configurations to execute tasks precisely in accordance with specifications and within set timelines. Additionally, may undertake the responsibility of instructing clients’ personnel in the correct operation and upkeep of the equipment.
Regularly collaborates with engineers to address field issues and offer insights for enhancing equipment design or functionality.
The Salary range for this position is $33.50 - $41.30 per hour depending on experience.
What You'll Do :
- Travel to customer sites in service truck or company vehicle to maintain and repair Astec equipment as scheduled or directed.
- Perform emergency and scheduled repairs to Astec equipment as requested by customers, Service Manager, or designated personnel.
- Provide thorough machine documentation and field reports to identify service issues and prevent future warranty claims.
- Coordinate with customers and Service Manager to schedule field jobs effectively.
- Train onsite customers on repair, installation, or testing procedures for scheduled machines.
- Follow up with customers, vendors, and personnel to ensure resolution of service issues, while promoting a safe work environment and adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Travel 100% of the time up to Two Weeks at a time. Guaranteed 40 hour weeks regardless of hours worked.

What We Need from You :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior work experience advantageous, or a blend of education and experience satisfactory to management.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in heavy equipment mechanics or related field.
- Must have previous Electrical Experience
- Proficiency in diesel mechanics with preference for electrical and hydraulic repair expertise.
- Demonstrated skills in component assembly, bearing installation, and air system hookup.
- Knowledgeable in hydraulic component installation, welding, and cutting.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts and conversions to practical situations.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues, both independently and as part of a team.
- Possess manual dexterity to meet service schedule demands efficiently.
- High proficiency in written communication for technical reports and documentation.
