Stryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets.
Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.
Machinist Department Lead works closely with the Operations Engineering to prioritize emergency mold repair in a timely and effective manner in an effort to support the molding department’s production objectives.
In addition to these emergency repairs other activities coordination include but are not limited to all molds as they relate to;
assignment of tasks, preparation, scheduled repairs, improvements, modifications and maintenance. The Machinist Lead is in close communication with the Operation Engineer throughout the day on repair and project status.
The Machinist Lead serves as a consultant to the Tooling Engineer on issues related to mold modifications and new mold construction.
This is a 1st shift (7 : 00am - 3pm) position.
Responsibilities
Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
Assign, review and lead scheduled and emergency repairs on all injection molds.
Ensure all work is performed in a neat and professional manner.
Work on special projects as assigned.
Review all work requests / work orders before and after every job.
Assist with Root Cause Analysis and repetitive failures as they relate to injection molds.
Assist with engineering projects / modification work.
Work on special projects as assigned.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Willingness to work as a team.
Able to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.
Attend gemba walks for assigned area
Conduct training and training audits
Attending production meetings
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Apprenticeship Training certificate (preferred but not required).
Five years machinist experience as it relates to injection molds.
Fundamental understanding of injection molding
Basic understanding of mold construction and mold maintenance principles.
Basic math and trigonometry
Machine tool set-up
NC milling machines and NC lathes
Surface grinding
EDM machine operation
Properties of metals as they relate to injection molds
Blueprint reading
Welding
Basic Computer Skills
