Job Summary :
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual for the position of Assistant Director. This entry-level role is ideal for a Lead Teacher certified candidate who is looking to transition into an administrative position while still engaging in classroom activities.
The Assistant Director will spend 75% of their time in the classroom and 25% on administrative duties, providing a balanced opportunity for hands-on teaching and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities :
Classroom Responsibilities (75%) :
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, nurturing classroom environment.
- Implement and oversee daily lesson plans, ensuring they align with The Goddard School's educational standards.
- Support teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining safety and cleanliness.
- Engage with children, guiding their development and encouraging positive social interactions.
- Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
Administrative Responsibilities (25%) :
- Assist the Director with the daily operations of the school, including scheduling, staff management, and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Handle enrollment inquiries and assist with the onboarding process for new families.
- Support staff development by coordinating training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student and staff information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with marketing and community outreach efforts to promote the school and attract new families.
Qualifications :
- Must hold a Director II certification as required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
- Lead Teacher certified with a strong background in early childhood education.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center, preferably in a lead teaching role.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Passionate about early childhood education and eager to take on a leadership role within the school.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community.
