About the Job

The College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS) offers four affiliated programs - a Master of Professional Studies in Sexual Health degree, and graduate certificate in Human Sexuality, Sex Therapy, and Transgender and Gender Diverse Health.

The Sexual Health programs provide academic preparation for adult learners interested in advancing their career in the helping professions or within the sexuality education or advocacy arenas.

This position reports to the Associate Director for Graduate Education. Candidates with an earned doctorate degree will be hired as a Lecturer.

  • Provide instruction for online HSEX graduate level courses.
  • Work with the Director of Graduate Studies for the Sexual Health programs and with CCAPS staff to ensure successful alignment with program curriculum.
  • Use industry and content expertise and keep current with research findings, workforce trends, professional ethics, and policies to inform depth and breadth of course content.
  • Utilize new technologies to enhance curriculum delivery and accessibility to accommodate working adult students.
  • Utilize pedagogical best practices for diverse working adult learners and deliver grading feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to teach at scheduled class times, which may include evening and weekends and respond to course related student inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement as a hybrid position and has the unique opportunity to help shape and be responsible for the student experience.

Qualifications

REQUIRED :

  • A demonstrative skill & commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level
  • A minimum of 3 semesters of teaching experience in a higher education setting with a record of strong student evaluations.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the field
  • Skill, experience, and comfort with having and / or reading about the role of intersectional identities, personal histories, and experiences with sexual health

PREFERRED :

  • An earned doctorate
  • A minimum of 5 semesters of teaching experience in a higher education setting with a record of strong student evaluations.
  • Ten or more years of professional experience in a field directly related to the course of instruction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people
