Position Information Position Title Music Skills Specialist - Jazz FLSA Classification EX Reports to Director, HCD Salary Range 99 Weeks Per Year 52 Work Week 40 hours (minimum) Position Summary Assumes responsibility for developing schedules, actively recruiting students, preparing weekly lessons / classes, and providing educational leadership in all areas of expertise for the Hartt Community Division (HCD).

Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.

Hiring Range Budgeted starting base salary is $50,000 to $55,000, depending upon experience Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Core Responsibility

  • Prepares lesson plans and teaches subject matter expertise to students of all ages at the HCD. Actively participates in the recruitment of students by visiting schools, providing detailed information relative to HCD offerings and teaching Master Classes to interested students.
  • Supports the retention of students by offering exceptional lessons which promote a sense of community, build on-going relationships with the students and parents and provide recommendations regarding opportunities and options to further their studies with HCD.
  • Administers programs as necessary and appropriate.
  • Develops class schedules and prepares teaching lessons.
  • Attends recitals, concerts, workshops and other school activities in support of the HCD program and its students.
  • Attends HCD meetings to maintain current knowledge of events, programs and teaching / learning methodologies. Assists in the development of HCD programs as necessary and appropriate.
  • Identifies and positively promotes performance and educational leadership opportunities for HCD students. Organizes recitals and other events for students.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
