2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor
The Logistics Supervisor oversees daily operations of inbound and outbound transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
Leading a team, they provide guidance and training, ensuring efficient logistics operations. They develop strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer service goals, monitoring performance metrics for improvement Compliance with regulations and standards is paramount, as is coordination with internal teams and external partners.
They maintain SOPs, participate in projects, and stay updated on industry trends to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Essential Functions / Duties
- It is the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor to coordinate the scheduling of production materials and services to ensure 100% final product delivery while minimizing inventory, handling, and logistics costs in a Just-in-Time / Just-in-Sequence production environment.
- Coordinates, monitors, and trains personnel involved in incoming goods, storage, provision of parts, and supplying materials to the production line (containers, pallets, cases, boxes, etc.
together with the disposal of waste per the applicable rules, regulations, and laws.
Training of personnel in IT applications per the available software tools and scanners, and in the implementation of internal instructions / rules for LOGISTICS procedures.
Allocation of tasks to Material Supervisors.
- Ensuring trouble-free production by punctual provision of parts for assembly and making available the containers required for assembly, including effective management of empty containers.
- Taking delivery of incoming goods and making quality checks on them per standard instructions (e.g. ASN, Serial# labels), and informing the Quality department for Inspection if required.
- Maintain dock timing for receiving and shipping.
- Storing goods and storage space management per standard instructions.
- Maintains 100% final product delivery.
- Training of Forklift Operators.
- Communicate and Control Quality alerts related to the LO department and Shift End Reports.
- Coordinate the logistics of both standard and non-standard inbound / outbound shipments with appropriate customs / legal documents.
- Shift handover audits.
- Various audit activities (Daily-Material coverage, Layered, Supplier-shipment, Internal and external, FIFO, Daily Line side presentation / storage area, inventory check) LPA's.
- Review and communicate daily and weekly material requirements for both manufactured and supplied products. Assist and participate in PPAP & PSO activity.
- Informing, advising, supporting, and motivation of personnel.
- Managing the working behavior and performance of personnel.
- Effectively dealing with both internal and external (Customer / Supplier) complaints and ensuring proper documentation of the details, Perform and submit daily check sheets.
- Cooperating in designing the workplace, line side feeding, etc. Interface with production employees.
- Monitoring and Maintaining proper inventory levels.
- Scheduling of free time in the event of operational breakdowns or capacity bottlenecks.
- Can stop production, upon notifying the Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor Manager, or Plant Manager of safety-related matters requiring immediate attention.
- Perform warehouse management (WM) activities as requested.
- Ensure 5s & Respect Austin facility.
Education : Grade 12- OSSO
Grade 12- OSSO
Post Secondary Education in a related field
Professional Training :
Tier 1 knowledge an asset 3+ years in a Materials role
APICS / PMAC training
Related Experience :
Good organizational skills
Strong communication : Verbal and Written
Good problem-solving skills : 8D / 5 Why
Working knowledge of MRO : SAP is an asset Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
