Job Description :
The Burris laboratory in the University of Florida Genetics Institute and the College of Pharmacy is seeking a highly talented, creative, independent, self-motivated postdoctoral scholar ().
Our research focuses on the chemical biology of nuclear receptors and drug development for a range of diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, atherosclerosis, metabolic disorders, and cancer.
Our goals are to identify and characterize novel synthetic or natural chemical probes modulating the function of nuclear receptors in disease models and to optimize such compounds for future clinical use.
Ongoing projects include :
- Characterization of LXR inverse agonists in models of cardiometabolic diseases
- Development of novel REV-ERB agonists targeting aging-related metabolic dysfunction, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration
- Characterization of TLX ligands in models of dementia
- Exploration of the pharmacology of ERR agonists in a range of disease models
- Identification of chemical tools for orphan nuclear receptors

Ph.D. in organic chemistry within the last 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications :
Candidates with experience in natural product chemistry.
- Expertise in analytical tools HPLC and LC / MS.
- Expertise in structure elucidation using different 2D NMR techniques.
- Excellent oral communication and written skills in English, with good organizational and analytical abilities
Have international publications as a first author.
