The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller . This position will assist with the monthly close process and the preparation of account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles "GAAP" and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 "SOX.

This person will also be responsible for the lease processes, certain reporting deliverables, Treasury, and liaising with the internal and external auditors.

What you'll do? IT'S Exciting!

• Support monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, and general ledger account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Support lease and tenant improvement allowance processes and liaise with 3rd parties to review and resolve any discrepancies
• Ensure rent payments and tenant allowances are calculated and processed in a timely manner
• Assist with POS system implementation, including testing, report validation, and researching and resolving discrepancies
• Prepare the Statement of Cash Flow for the organization
• Responsible for certain financial reporting deliverables internally and externally for vendors, lenders and landlords
• Complete census forms / surveys
• Responsible for Treasury functions to include initiating payments, daily cash review, cash management, and bank fee analysis
• Follow up on collections and risk management
• Support sales tax returns & compliance related processes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant procedures are completed in accordance with SOX
• Coordinate with external auditors and the Accounting team to provide support for audit requests
• Assist with the development of policies & procedures
• Analyze and make recommendations for process improvement
• Other duties as required

What you need to join the fun! (besides SUGAR)

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Years of Experience : 5+ years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• CPA preferred
• Strong organization skills with an ability to multi-task
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including both verbal and written
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and V-lookup functionality. Computer Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be a team player, strong people skills and can multi-task while remaining flexible
• Must independently, lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 50lbs (may be assisted with this task).
