The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences is seeking a marketing assistant to work remotely part-time from December 2024 thru February 2025.
This job will convert to a full-time position for one week (Feb. 10-14, 2024) in-person at Las Vegas, NV (travel / lodging / food will be covered).
This position will work with the Academy's content + marketing manager on the 2025 D.I.C.E. Summit and Awards (more info @ )
This is an entry-level position to network and get one-to-one time with a variety of gaming studios / companies as well as hands-on experience in marketing and PR preparation and execution of a major gaming event.
Summary :
- Contract part time position (mostly remote - one week in person that is expensed)
- Part time hours when working remotely / / full time hours when in Vegas Feb. 10-14, 2024. Job will pay for travel / lodging / expenses for Las Vegas work.
- Age must be 21+ to apply
- Pay : $17.50 an hour
Job Requirements :
This position requires a bright, independent individual who is self-motivated, engaging, energetic, reliable, well-spoken, and a team player.
Knowledge and interest in the video game industry is a plus along with some event and marketing experience / interest.
Some knowledge of team communications systems like Slack and usage of Microsoft / Google Suite would also be preferred.
Please note that this is a small team environment, so we are looking for a self-starter who can thrive in an entrepreneurial atmosphere, possesses strong computer skills, and be an excellent communicator.
Flexible hours although some working hours may be late depending on deadlines. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma.
Position Responsibilities :
- Work closely with content + marketing manager to assist in the following :
- Help build and execute social media marketing campaigns on a variety of platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook as well as potentially new digital platforms.
This could potentially include working on contests; updates to conference attendees; editing photos / videos; and creating copy.
- Create / edit press releases for major announcements and interface with press.
- Pitch guerrilla digital marketing ideas and possibly executing on these projects on helping create more awareness about D.I.C.E.
- Interface and respond to high-level gaming executives, creatives, and business individuals.
- Assist with on-the-ground event logistics such as managing behind-the-scenes awards press / winners; managing lists and entry for networking events;
and attending to major gaming / gaming-related speakers and nominees.
- Talk with vendors such as PR agencies and events staff to help manage the flow of the conference.
- Create and manage post-event activities such as post-mortem reports; post-event marketing analytics; and closing transition notes.
- Additional duties may include but are not limited to executing basic data entry tasks; editing grammar and structure in presentations / videos;
managing Zoom calls with scholars and other meetings; and moving / lifting boxes and guiding others during events.
