Based in Austin Texas, CARMAhealth was founded in 2017 as an integrated primary care and behavioral health practice focused on providing in-network access to people suffering from addiction and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Over the past 7 years, CARMAhealth has expanded in three states (Texas, Florida and Virginia) providing in-person and telemedicine behavioral health and primary care services for various treatment facilities, hospitals, and state-funded agencies in addition to outpatient medication management, ketamine and TMS services.
CARMAhealth seeks an experienced Chief Operating Officer reporting directly to CEO Dr. Carlos Tirado. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the day-to-day operations of the medical group, ensuring efficient and effective management of all operational aspects.
The COO will be responsible for leading and managing key operational team members. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, facility management, and payor relations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee Day-to-Day Operations : Manage and supervise all daily operations of the medical group to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Team Leadership : Take reporting responsibility for Sara, Kim, Nicole, Amanda, and other operational team members, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
- Revenue Cycle Management : Oversee the revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, collections, and financial reporting to maximize revenue and ensure compliance.
- Facility Management and Workflows : Ensure optimal facility management, including maintenance, safety, and workflow optimization to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Payor Management & Credentialing : Manage relationships with payors, oversee credentialing processes, and ensure timely and accurate contract negotiations and renewals.
- Contract Management and Supply Chain : Oversee contract management, including vendor negotiations, supply chain logistics, and procurement to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of supplies and services.
- Outpatient Operations : Manage outpatient operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient scheduling, and effective resource utilization.
- Contractor Management : Oversee the management of contractors, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and effective service delivery.
- Physician Dyad Leadership : Collaborate with physician leaders to ensure alignment of clinical and operational goals, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, facility management, and payor relations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
