Teaching Assistant / TA / HLTA / High level teaching assistant / SEN teaching assistant

Start : September 2024

Primary school is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children within the classroom environment, providing both group and one-to-one assistance to help them reach their full potential.

Teaching assistant TA Responsibilities :

• Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and engaging students in learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional assistance with their academic work.
• Assist with the planning and preparation of classroom resources and activities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
• Help to manage classroom behavior and encourage positive social interactions among students.
• Support students with special educational needs (SEN) by implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and providing tailored support.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and maintaining student progress reports.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to assess student progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate effectively with parents / carers, providing updates on student performance and addressing any concerns.

Teaching assistant TA Requirements :

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from classroom teachers.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare would be advantageous but not essential.
