As a quotations specialist, your role typically involves interpreting low / medium voltage electrical system specifications, preparing accurate and competitive quotations for medium low / voltage projects, collaborating with sales and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and providing technical support to customers and internal stakeholders.
You may also need to stay updated on industry trends and pricing to ensure competitive and compelling proposals. Additionally, you might be responsible for reviewing technical specifications and coordinating with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for medium voltage equipment.
This position works Hybrid work schedule. What do you get to do in this position? At Schneider Electric, a Quotation Specialist will utilize technical knowledge to prepare quotation packages based on the product content.
Provide bill of material preparation for some large, complex projects with guidance of a Senior or Staff Quotation Specialist.
Interpret customer requirements and match products to customer specifications / drawings. Collaborate with the Sales Engineers to ensure the quote is technically compatible, competitive, and clarify that all requirements of the project are met.
Understand the Sales Engineers strategy for the quotation opportunity to ensure quality output. Understand and analyze documents and communicates contractual, technical, and commercial terms and has a working understanding of bid strategies and market conditions.
This individual will hand-off a quotation package with comments on exceptions and built-in value for use by the Sales Engineer in customer presentation.
While continuing to collaborate during the process as needed to ensure proper order conversion. Embrace and fully utilize new tools and technology to improve efficiency.
This job might be for you if : Bachelor’s Degree or 5-10 years industry experience. Proven quotation experience in the Electrical Industry.
Knowledgeable on the following products : Medium Voltage Equipment including : MetalClad Switchgear, Metal Enclosed Switchgear and Power Transformers Low Voltage Equipment including : Low Voltage Draw-out Switchgear, Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, Pad Mount Transformers, Dry Type Transformers, simple Drives.
Understand and have the ability to apply NEC equipment standards and local Codes. Understanding of competitor products. Self-motivated team player with good time management, verbal and written communication skills.
Able to effectively utilize company software programs / collaborative tools and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
