Assistant Controller - Olathe, KS (Onsite)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated finance professional to join our team. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting the Controller and plant leadership in managing the financial operations of the Olathe Distribution Center.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment undergoing change and growth.

What You Will Do :

• Assist the Controller in overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities
• Manage the general ledger and ensure proper recording of financial transactions
• Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures including leading the Distribution Center’s annual control design assessment as the SOX site coordinator
• Assist in the identification, elimination, and prevention of control deficiencies
• Perform month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
• Assist with internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Stay updated with accounting regulations and industry best practices

What You Need to Succeed :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA, CMA or MBA is a plus
• Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years finance / accounting work experience with preferred manufacturing / supply chain experience
• Outstanding Excel skills and ability to leverage PowerBI and other tools for the development of concise, user friendly, management presentations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Infrastructure reporting tools experience such as Hyperion
• Experience working in a Microsoft ERP is a plus
• Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills including ability to communicate complex financial issues in a simple way to all levels and functions within an organization
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
