Additive Manufacturing Operations Technician

Description : The technician will work in large format AM laboratory, supporting R&D and technology development. This role will work closely with engineering, R&D and product team members, with the goal of increasing AM applications.

Based onsite at Dallas, the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Technician will be responsible for supporting various AM technologies (LPBF, DED, Hybrid AM) with alloys including but not limited to Al, Ti and Steel.

The role will be reporting to AM manager and the primary responsibilities of this role will be

1. Understand, uphold and follow all AM safety measures - be a champion of safe operations

2. Schedule, operate and maintain large format AM machines

3. Prepare files for successful AM prints - knowledge of DfAM, support structures and post processing

4. Operate a wide variety of metal 3D printers

5. Ensure that the part quality after build is up to the drawing or required standards

6. Follow work orders, procedures, specifications and other instructions

7. Perform daily, weekly, monthly and other equipment operation on the AM machines

8. Provide timely and accurate process and operational feedback to the engineers and broader team

9. Other duties as essential identified by the manager to enhance AM penetration in the company

Basic Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 3+ years of experience
• 1+ year of experience in metal Additive manufacturing, preferably, large format powder bed AM
• Experience with CAD and basic machining skills

Desired Skills :

• SLM additive manufacturing machine operation experience
• Design for AM experience
• Associates degree in machining, welding or Additive manufacturing
• 3+ years of experience in metal Additive manufacturing, preferably, large format powder bed AM

Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
